Prescription Fraud and Money Laundering, SEVEN OAKS, March 14, 2018 - At approximately 3:30 pm on March 8, 2017, Trooper Zach Lenderman, with the Texas Highway Patrol spotted a speeding vehicle (2017 Dodge SUV) traveling on US-59 North in Seven Oaks. Trooper Lenderman initiated a traffic stop. The driver, William Earl Oliver, 53, of Houston was acting nervous and suspicious. Lenderman gained consent to conduct a vehicle search.
The search proved to be fruitful as Lenderman uncovered multiple fraudulent medical prescriptions for controlled substances and thousands of dollars in hard cash. Oliver was arrested for money laundering and several charges of fraudulent possession of a controlled substance prescription. Oliver was transported to the Polk County Jail. This investigation is ongoing. No additional information is available at this time.
