Relay for Life 2012 Continues Tradition of Success in Polk County, LIVINGSTON, April 28, 2012 - The 2012 Relay for Life annual celebration continues to be a major success in Polk County. Thousands turned out for the annual celebration/fundraiser including local businesses, individuals, elected officials and spectators. There was plenty of entertainment, food, fun, games and silliness. Each year seems to outshine the previous year. Last year at the end of the annual celebration, $225,000 had been raised, in last night's celebration by morning, $270,000 had been raised. Of course, there's still time to give. Last year the giving continued until the goal of $300,000 was raised. All proceeds go to the American Cancer Society Relay for life which is used for cancer research and also to help those with cancer that don't have the financial resources to get the help they need.
