Grand Jury Indicts Rachel Leggett for Murder, LIVINGSTON, December 29, 2012 - A Polk County Grand Jury indicted Rachel Nicol Leggett for murder in the October 12th shooting of Rhett Lathan, 16, of Livingston. The indictment occurred in Robert Trapp's District Court. Leggett fired shots a truck that Lathan was in as it was reportedly backing out of her driveway. One shot struck Lathan who died in a Houston Hospital the next day. Leggett is facing from 5 to 99 years in prison and up to a $10,000 fine. Leggett (who was out of jail on bond) was taken back to jail and a bond set at $100,000.
