18 year old Sidney Blake Murphrey, of Livingston

Pursuit That Started in Livingston Ends in Montgomery County, MONTGOMERY COUNTY, June 12, 2023 - At approximately 12:24PM on June 11, 2023, the Polk County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a vehicle that had just been stolen, from the Scenic Loop area.

Deputies Garrett Childers, and Roper Ellison with the Polk County Sheriff’s Office, spotted the vehicle coming off of FM-350 South onto the south end of Pan American Drive and onto US-59 south-bound.  Deputies Childers and Ellison attempted to stop the vehicle near Thomas Supply. The driver decided to evade and a pursuit was established. The pursuit continued South into San Jacinto County and then into Liberty County, then Montgomery County where the driver lost control and wrecked the vehicle on US Hwy 59 S, just before Splendora.

The driver of the vehicle, 18 year old, Sidney Blake Murphrey, of Livingston, was taken into custody by the Polk County Sheriff’s Office and transported back to the Polk County Jail, where he was charged with Unauthorized Use of a Motor Vehicle (felony) and Evading Arrest/Detention w/Vehicle (felony).

Murphrey was also served with an active Motion To Revoke Probation warrant, for a previous Evading Arrest/Detention w/Vehicle (felony), where he then led Polk County Sheriff’s Office Deputies, on a pursuit last year, on July 18, 2022.
