35 year old Jacom McCreary, of Lufkin, lost his race from the police just north of Livingston.
Pursuit from Liberty County ends North of Livingston, OAKDALE LOOP, May 12, 2023 - Shortly before 4 pm on May 12, 2023, Deputies from Liberty County attempted to stop a car and a high speed pursuit ensued.  The pursuit made its way up US-59 North.  The Deputies allegedly lost site of the suspect vehicle around Shepherd.  Polk County was notified.  Corporal Ramey Bass with the Texas Highway Patrol spotted the vehicle in the vicinity of Goodrich.  The driver refused to stop and the pursuit continued north of 59 at 110 miles per hour.  With other law enforcement joining in to stop the silver Ford Focus, the chase passed through Livingston on the 59 bypass.  Detective Byron Dunaway with the Polk County Sheriff's Office successfully spiked the front driver's side tire, but the vehicle didn't stop.  After all the rubber came off, and the driver was on the bare rim, he finally stopped near Oakdale Loop.  The driver, 35 year old Jacob McCreary, of Lufkin was taken into custody without further incident.  McCreary is likely facing a list of charges in Polk and Liberty Counties.  Additionally, McCreary had an open, half empty bottle of vodka in his center console.

The pursuit came to an end shortly after Detective Byron Dunaway, with the Polk County Sheriff's Office spiked the driver's side front tire.
McCreary also had an opened, half empty, bottle of vodka in his center console.
