45 year old Karen Brattskar, of Thousand Oaks, California, decided to evade police in Montgomery County in a pursuit that made it all the way to South Livingston before it ended when her front tires were spiked by Officer Matthew Stuart with Livingston PD.
Patton Village Pursuit Ends in Livingston, LIVINGSTON, May 4, 2025 - Shortly before 2 am on May 4, 2025, Sergeant Christian Lehman with the Patton Village Police Department attempted to stop the driver of a white 2025 Jeep Compass for a moving violation. The driver decided to evade and a pursuit was on. The pursuit reportedly, at times, got up to 120 miles per hour and was heading quickly toward Polk County. The pursuit was about to enter Livingston when Officer Matthew Stuart, with the Livingston Police Department successfully spiked both front tires on the Jeep and brought the chase to an end just south of the Pan American overpass on the north-bound side of 59. The suspect, Karen Brattskar, 45, of Thousand Oaks California was quickly detained by Officers with Livingston Police Department and was assisted by Trooper Datrell North with The Texas Highway Patrol, Patton Village Police, and Montgomery County Deputies. During a vehicle inventory, Karen Brattskar was found to be in possession of synthetic marijuana and liquid THC and other contraband. Brattskar was taken into custody by Patton Village Police and transported back to Montgomery County. Her vehicle was recovered by Kwik Tow out of Livingston.
Officer Matthew Stuart, with Livingston P.D. (center) effectively ended the pursuit when he successfully spiked both front tires to Brattskar's vehicle.
Trooper Datrel North, assisted in the pursuit and detainment of Brattskar.
Both of Brattskar's front tires were spiked.
Brattskar was in possession of synthetic marijuana, liquid THC and other contraband.
Brattskar was transported back to Montgomery County.
