THE POWER OF PRAYER

Maria Becker stands by a sign at the Courthouse gazebo inviting other Christians to come and pray.
Group Aims to Make a Difference Through Public Prayer, LIVINGSTON, June 22, 2008 - The River of Life Women's Training Center and a group of Polk County Churches from multiple Christian denominations have coordinated to have organized public prayer meetings for the next 5 Fridays (through July 18th) starting at 11:30 am and lasts until 1 pm.  The objective is to pray for our leaders, our economy, racial barriers, schools, crime and any needs that concerns our community.  "We want people from all denominations to come and pray together to make a difference." says Debby Schmidt of the River of Life Women's Training Center, "We believe in the power of prayer" she says.  Debby brings a list of prayer requests to the Polk County Courthouse gazebo as she and 4 other women talk about concerns during the lunch hour and then pray.  They bring Bibles, talk about concerns, and the requests on their list. Anyone is invited to come and pray and anyone can come and submit prayer requests to be added to their list.  "Make your requests known to God", Debby says as the group is wrapping things up for the day.  "Next week we'll be here again".  For more information on a prayer place close to you, you can email Debby at:  Debby@LivingstonRiverOfLife.com
