Americare Ambulance exits Polunsky parking lot.
TDC Polunksy Employee Dead in an Apparent Suicide, LIVINGSTON, December 4, 2008 - The Texas Department of Criminal Justice, Polunsky Unit was a scene of somber quietness late in the night as one of its employees was killed in an apparent suicide.  According to sources, an employee (whose name is being withheld at this time) went to the parking lot to take a break sometime after 1 am.  When the employee didn't return, co-workers went to the parking lot to check on him and found him locked in his vehicle at 1:55 am with an apparent self inflicted gun shot wound to the head.  Life Flight and Americare Ambulance were summoned but waived off as the victim was determined to be dead.  Polk County Sheriff's Deputies Jaime Buie, Darrin Crow, Sergeant Jason Paske, Vance Barry, Detective Ramond Lofton, and Captain Ricky Childers were all dispatched to the scene in the Parking lot.  Polk County Justice of the Peace Precint 2, David Johnson, officially pronounced the employee dead at 3:15 am.  A rollback wrecker from LakeView Wrecker Service arrived to tow the red Nissan truck and it is currently being held at the Polk County Sheriff's Office.  As details from this story emerge, PolkCountyToday.com will run an update story.
