Michael B. Hale had arrest warrants for violating the terms of his probation.
Man Pulled Over for Reckless Driving Arrested for Outstanding Arrest Warrants, LIVINGSTON, July 18, 2008 - Shortly after 4 pm a call was placed to the Polk County Sheriff's Department to report a reckless driver on US-190 West in the east-bound lanes. The callers stated that the drive of a black SUV type vehicle was passing people on the shoulder of the road, coming dangerously close to other cars, and even driving along the highway in the grass. When Polk County Sheriff's Deputy Mike Nettles spotted the reckless driver he was able to pull him over in the parking lot of HEB foods in Livingston. The driver was Michael Brian Hale, 21, of Onalaska. Hale happened to have to outstanding arrest warrants for violating the rules of his probation in Nacogdoches County, Texas. Deputy Mark Dubose arrived to assist Nettles in the arrest of Hale and the subsequent search of his vehicle in which multiple quantities of pharmaceuticals were found by Deputy Dubose. Hale was placed under arrest and booked into Polk County Jail. Hale's 1999 black Chevy Blazer was towed away from the scene by Ken's towing and is being stored at Harrison's body shop in downtown Livingston.
