Current Polk County Sheriff, Ken Hammack, addresses a small gathering that was arranged in honor of Polk County's past sheriffs on Thursday afternoon.
Honorary Wall Set Up for Past Sheriffs of Polk County, LIVINGSTON, February 18, 2016 - At 1:30 pm on February 18, 2016, Polk County Sheriff, Ken Hammack held a brief ceremony and spoke to a small gathering to honor Polk County's past sheriffs. The Polk County Sheriff's Office now has a wall featuring pictures of the county's past sheriffs. Hammack addressed the gathering, and among other things, stated that "...each sheriff on this wall had a vision and played an important part of where we are today". The wall is displayed just inside the front entrance of the Sheriff's Office. In attendance were former sheriffs, Billy Ray Nelson and Ted Everitt and some of their guests. Former sheriffs Leamon Cain and Darrell Longino weren't able to attend due to prior commitments.
