Late Night Armed Robbery at the Mobil Station on Highway 59, GOODRICH, March 7, 2008 - A late night armed robbery occurred on March 7, 2008 at the Mobil gas station on Highway 59 North in Goodrich. The robbery was reported by Polk County Sheriff's dispatch at 12:45 am. According to the station attendant, Daveleen Leonard, 49, of Shepherd, she was alone at the station when the armed robbery occurred, the robber, she said, was a white male in his early 20s, shaved head, chin stubble, wearing a yellow shirt and blue jeans. There were 2 Polk County Sheriff's deputies at the scene (Deputy Vance Berry, and Deputy James Buie), also Polk County Investigator Raymond Lofton. In addition, there were two City of Livingston Police patrol units. A witness at the scene said that the suspect may have fled to the wooded area behind the Mobil station. At time of press, local law enforcement had an armed perimeter around the woods in an effort to locate the suspect.
