Faith Cox Crowned as Miss Polk County 2014, LIVINGSTON, January 27, 2014 - After a two year layoff, the Miss Polk County Pageant got back on track in grand fashion on Saturday evening (January 25, 2014). Eight beautiful contestants, all from Livingston High School, graced the audience with their presence, their beauty, and their talents. Things kicked off at 7 pm when 1982 Miss Polk County, Jami Lumpkin Alexander welcomed guests and introduced the Master of Ceremonies, Debbie Mayes. Mayes was assisted by 2011 Miss Polk County, Brooke Haynes. The contestants introduced themselves to the audience, followed by the talent competition. After intermission, the Studio C Dancers performed a holiday dance in the style of the world famous Radio City Rockettes. Then one by one, the contestants walked the stage for the evening gown portion of the show. The five finalists were Tiereny White, Mary Katherine Scott, Melanie Moore, Dana Smith, and Faith Cox. Each of the five finalists had to answer a question on stage (If you could do one thing to make the world a better place, what would you do?, and why?). Fortunately, none of the contestants said "world peace". Each contestant gave good answer. After Brook Haynes did her farewell walk and address the final awards were handed out.
