Letting Their Light Shine...
Baptist Spanish Mission Holds Family Events, Offers Help, LIVINGSTON, October 8, 2012 - The Baptist Spanish Mission located at 516 De La Morton off US-146 (Behind Valero) held it's first annual Family Fun day on October 7, 2012. The objective is to encourage it's members to focus on God and keep God's most important commandments; Jesus himself said, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets. Matthew 22:36-40
Pastor Hector Marrufo and Youth Pastor/Music Director, Rick Ramirez were assisted by church volunteers and headed up the big event. The church's 70 plus members brought friends and guests for a day of fun, fellowship, music, games, food, and free clothing. The first year of the event appeared to be a huge success as lots of people turned out for the event. The Mission Bautista began as a mission that was supported primarily by Central Baptist church years ago, but broke off and became independent three years ago. If you're interested in visiting, helping, or perhaps joining, give 'em a call at (936) 327-3630.
The Church offers free clothing to those in need.
