Dr. Robert Fayle Resigns from Memorial Clinics, LIVINGSTON, August 7, 2013 - After diligently serving Polk County and surrounding communities for the past seven years, board certified neurologist and sleep disorders medicine physician Robert Fayle, M.D. resigned from his practice at Memorial Clinics.
Dr. Fayle came to Livingston in 2008 from Park Plaza Hospital in Houston. His last day in Livingston was July 31.
During his time at Memorial, Dr. Fayle helped initiate a highly successful stroke program at the hospital. Under his guidance, the hospital now has access to a telemedicine system that provides 24-7 access to quality stroke care from Memorial Hermann Health System physicians. A high resolution telemedicine camera – provided by a generous Memorial Hermann grant – continues to operate in the Livingston emergency department allowing for two-way communication between physicians in Houston and Livingston.
He also helped to establish the hospital’s Sleep Lab which opened in 2009, where he continues to serve as the Medical Director.
Dr. Fayle also served as Vice Chair of the Memorial Livingston Medical Staff and on the hospital’s board of directors.
He received his medical degree from the University of Texas Medical School at Houston, a master’s degree from Stephen F. Austin State University in Nacogdoches, and his bachelor’s degree from the University of Texas at Austin.
“Dr. Fayle is well known and well loved by the community and his patients. He will be greatly missed by those of us here at Memorial that had the privilege and honor of working with him,” Memorial Medical Center-Livingston Chief Nursing Officer Jackie Gordon said.
As the Medical Director of the hospital’s Sleep Lab, Dr. Fayle will continue to read sleep studies and oversee the lab from Houston.
