Local High School Girls Meet for Fun, Serious Talk About Life Jeanie Meade
Girls from Livingston High School, Coldspring and Livingston Junior High came together at LHS Thursday evening to discuss the ever popular subjects of boys, dating and self-esteem. The Clay Cup Christian Book Store helped promote the event part with LJH teachers Megan Craycraft. Pam Beard, Jeanni Meade and Craycraft spoke honestly and openly about the pitfalls of dating. Parents joined in the event also. "It's a good message. Maybe the girls will listen when it comes from someone else,"said mom, Maria Ramirez. Jason Collins spoke on the guys perspective and reminded girls how important it is to wait for the right guy to come along, not to settle and not to give yourself away.
Girls participated in games and entered a drawing for prizes. Food was served and laughter was shared. Ninth grader, Julie Ramirez said she was glad that no boys were allowed."It's comfortable just hanging out with girls," Ramirez said. Jenna Gregory enjoyed the event and said she would take the information to heart."I want to definitely be a long time girl and not a right now girl," said Gregory.
