Two Local Students Headed to State in Rodeo, LIVINGSTON, May 14, 2015 - Two local students are headed to the Texas High School Rodeo Association State Finals, to be held in Abilene June 6 - June 13, 2015.   Mattie Sheffield and Cade Sutherland are both active members in Texas High School Rodeo, Region IX.   Both students qualified for state in March during the Region IX finals in Crockett, Tx.  Cade will be representing Region IX in the team roping event and Mattie will be representing as the Rodeo Queen contestant for Region IX.
 
Mattie is a sophomore at Livingston ISD,  the daughter of Christie Cochran Oswalt and Kenny Sheffield
 
Cade is a freshman at Big Sandy ISD, the son of Jeremy and Jessica Slack and the late Brinton Sutherland.
 
The two have had an outstanding 2014-2015 year in the sport of rodeo and have represented their schools with the highest honor.
