Livingston Volunteer Fire Department Recognizes 110 Years of Service, LIVINGSTON, August 24, 2025 - On Saturday, August 23, 2025, Chief Corky Cochran and The Livingston Volunteer Fire Department took a few hours to recognize 110 years of volunteer community service.  LVFD volunteer firemen serve Livingston, Polk County, and when needed, assists surrounding counties in their time of need.  Chief Cochran gave a speech to the ceremonial gathering and reflected on the history of the LVFD, milestones, and profound moments of service, as well as moments of sacrifice that goes into serving as a volunteer fireman.  Other Fire Chiefs from other local fire departments were also in attendance, as well as City of Livingston Mayor, Judy Cochran, current and retired firemen and local residents.  The firemen grilled and served ballpark hotdogs, with chili, cheese, and all the other add ons, along with grilled sausage and drinks.  A newly acquired fire truck was dedicated into service and was pushed in (per tradition) to the fire station bay.
