Derrick Ramon Petty, 46, of Livingston
Suspect Attacks Livingston Police Officers, LIVINGSTON, June 7, 2021 - June 4, 2021 at approximately 9:24 p.m. Officers with the LivingstonPolice Department were dispatched to the 1500 block of N. Houston Ave in reference to a subject who was walking in the street and bleeding from his nose and mouth.  Livingston Police Department Officers arrived at the scene and attempted to speak to the subject.  The subject became aggressive and began to charge towards the Officers at which point Officers deployed less than lethal techniques and were able to safely place the subject in custody after a brief struggle.  The subject was identified as Derrick Ramon Petty, 46, of Livingston. EMS was called to the scene to evaluate Petty’s pre-existing injuries.  Once inside the ambulance  Petty continued to be combative with Officers and EMS personnel. Petty was transported to St. Luke CHI Memorial ER in Livingston for medical treatment.  Once released from the ER, Petty was transported to the Polk County Jail where he was released into their custody.  Petty was charged with three counts of assault on a peace officer, one count of assault on EMS personnel providing service, and one count of resisting arrest search or transport.  Perry is currently being held on $115,000 worth of bonds along with a no bond warrant on an unrelated family violence charge from Liberty County.
