Bomb Situation Defused, LIVINGSTON, May 22, 2020 - At approximately 7:30 am on Friday, May 22, 2020, Livingston Police Officers responded to the 200 Block of West Abbey Street, in reference to a report of smoke in the area. When Officers arrived they located a homeless camp and an open fire pit being extinguished by Randall Scott Pietrusza, 39, of age of Onalaska. While Officers were conducting their investigation they noticed a device which appeared to be a homemade bomb. Officers secured the area and contacted the Bureau of Alcohol Tobacco and Firearms. When ATF Agents arrived they conducted an investigation concerning the device. It was determined the device was not an explosive device and identified as a Hoax Bomb designed to cause alarm or panic. The Livingston Police Department and ATF agents continued the investigation and confirmed there was no threat to the public or individuals.
Randall Scott Pietrusza (39) of Onalaska, Texas was charged with Possession Of Hoax Bomb (Misdemeanor A) and is currently being held at the Polk County Jail pending bond.
