Jamarqus Trevon Simmons, 20, of Livingston
Felon Charged with Assaulting Livingston Officer, LIVINGSTON, March 11, 2019 - On Sunday morning March 10, 2019 at approximately 4:35 am Officers responded to the Ridgecrest Apartments located at 901 Forest Hollow in regards to an alleged theft of a motor vehicle. During the investigation, the alleged actor known as Trevon had supposedly been seen at one of the apartments at the complex. Officers located Trevon.  While were attempting to positively identify Trevon he began acting suspicious and nervous while being detained. While attempting to get the suspect’s full name for identity purposes, the suspect fled from the residence on foot as officers gave chase.  The suspect entered a dark wooded area and during the foot pursuit, the suspect struck one of the Officers in the face with his left elbow, causing him to lose his footing. The foot chase continued and the suspect was later apprehended and taken into custody by Officers.

After the suspect was arrested, he provided Officers with a name and fictitious date of birth attempting to hide his true identity.  The Officers were later able to find the suspect’s correct date of birth and was then positively identified as Jamarqus Trevon Simmons, 20, of Livingston. It was discovered that Simmons was wanted on several felony warrants from Walker County for aggravated robbery and Smith County on drug charges. The Livingston Police Department has charged Simmons with second degree felony assault on a police officer and two misdemeanor offenses (Evading Arrest/Detention and Failure to Identify Fugitive from Justice).
