Lions Beat PN-G, Prepare for Playoffs, LIVINGSTON, November 10, 2012 - The Livingston Lions took care of business Friday night when they won a game that they were supposed to win. The PN-G Indians came to town and were put out of their misery by the Lions who sent the Indians home with a 28 to 7 loss to end their season.
Scoring Summary...
First Quarter
The Lions received the ball first, and on the third play from scrimmage, running back Damion Collins took the ball right down the middle of the field on a handoff and took it to the house from 60 something yards out. Lions 6, Indians 0 (Lions missed PAT).
Second Quarter
With 1:12 left in the half, quarterback Tyler Napier connected with Anfernee Wilson on an 18 yard TD pass. Lions successful on 2 point conversion. Lions 14, Indians 0.
3rd Quarter
With 11:02 remaining, running back Xavier Hutchinson ran for a Lion TD from 4 yards out. Lions 21, Indians 0.
4th Quarter
With 6:23 remaining, quarterback Tyler Napier connected with Anfernee Wilson again for a 36 yard TD pass. Lions 28, Indians 0. With 1:51 remaining in the game, the Indians got a consolation TD when they ran in a short yardage TD. Final Score, Lions 28, Indians 7.
The Lion Defense seems to be working better after last weeks disaster in Vidor. The defense held the Indians to 7 points. The offense was missing the services of Quarterback Chevoski Collins and Garrett Green. Quarterback Tyler Napier stepped in and did a good job throwing for 2 touchdown passes. Running backs Damion Collins and Marquis Thomas took over this game as it was the ground game that did most of the damage and kept the chains moving for the Lions.
The Playoffs...
The Lions will now face Barbers Hill in Beaumont on Friday. Barbers Hill reportedly disposed of New Caney last night 49 to 0. For the Lions, if they hope to advance, they will have to bring their A game (offense, defense, and special teams). From this point on, every game is do or die, and Barbers Hill has no intentions of being nice.
