Lions Season Ends in Vidor, VIDOR, November 8, 2009 - The Livingston Lions Varsity Football Team's season came to an end Friday night in Vidor. When the Lions entered the game they still had a reasonable shot at making the playoffs. A Lion win and a Nederland victory over Lumberton would've put the Lions in the post season, but it wasn't to be as the Vidor Pirates ground attack was too much for the Lions defense who one week earlier carried the Lions to an improbable victory over unbeaten Beaumont Central. I don't mean to sound like a broken record, but as usual, Lion running back Quentin Jackson did his part and ran well and scored the Lions only 2 touchdowns, but the Pirates had their own running game and it was effective. This Lion season had a lot of disappointment. There were games the Lions should've easily won, there were close games that were winnable. I believe that this Lion team was quite capable of going further than they did, but if that was to have been, they would've had to play with that sense of urgency week after week. -- Editor
Reliable, Dependable: Quentin Jacson runs 55 yards for his first of the Lions only 2 touchdowns.
Lion Quarterback Blake Burman had moments of excellence.
Quentin Jackson gave the Pirates more than they cared for.
