The Port Arthur Memorial Titans had a good running game and a good passing game.
Lions Over Powered by Port Arthur Titans, LIVINGSTON, October 23, 2016 - The Port Arthur Memorial Titans visited the Lions Den on Friday night (10/21/16) and soundly beat the Lions in an over powering shut out. The Lion defense didn't have an answer for the Titans' formidable and balanced offense. When the Lions had the ball, they just couldn't seem to put anything together. At times the Lion defense looked good, but it's like they'd take one step forward, then two steps backward. I saw multiple times when the Lions had the Titans facing a 4th down and long situation (one step forward) and the Titans would go for it and get a first down almost every time (two steps backward). From what I've been told, the Titans have the number one defense in Texas for their school size, and the number one scoring offense in the second half in our district. By halftime, the Titans were winning 33 to 0. The second half looked no better for the Lions as the Titans continued to roll. By the end of the game, the Titans had rolled up 54 points and the Lions had 0. Another game for the Lions to just forget about and get ready for their next opponent (Beaumont Central on Friday night in Beaumont).
