The Vidor Pirates' ground game often had the Lion defense backed up against their own endzone.
Pirates Run Over Lions with Running Game, VIDOR, October 16, 2016 - The Livingston Lions traveled to Vidor on Friday night (10/14/16) and faced a Pirate team that had an overpowering running game and a menacing pass rush. The Lions came out flat and never found a rythm. Meanwhile the Pirates were running early and often. The Lions never had an answer for the running game. When the Lions had the ball, they were constantly dogged by a pass rush that wasn't allowing the Lions to get anything going. By halftime, the Pirates were winning 21 to 0. In the second half, Christian Mitchell scored two touchdowns on passes from Quarterback, Hunter Bland. The final score was Pirates 49, Lions 14. The Lions' next game is against PA Memorial on Friday, October 21 at 7 pm in the Lions Den. We did manage to put together a good highlight reel. :)
