Ozen Bowls Over Lions, BEAUMONT, October 13, 2013 - On a sunny afternoon in Beaumont, the Livingston Lions went to Carol "Butch" Thomas Stadium and got soundly beaten by the Beaumont Ozen Panthers. The Panthers, made up mostly of seniors had a banner day against the Lion offense and defense.

7:12 To the Lions credit, they drew first blood when the defense forced an Ozen fumble that the Lions recovered. A few plays later Hutchinson took a handoff from quarterback Kurt Wilson and ran into the endzone from four yards out, then missed the PAT: Lions 6, Panthers 0

Commentary
I know that I sound like a broken record, but the Lions are learning. These rough days (like yesterday) are the laying of a foundation for the Lions. I know that sounds a little crazy, but it's through hard knocks and learning the hard way that the young Lions will get better. This young team must persever and drive on. The passing is getting better, and I'm still excited about Kurt Wilson leading the Lions over the next few years.
