Lions Spirits Dampened by Rain and Mistakes, Lose at Home 30 - 7 to PNG, LIVINGSTON, October 10, 2009 - The Livingston Lions came out flat and just had a bad night as they tried to keep pace in their district. The unbeaten Port Neches Groves Indians came to town and ran and passed effectively on the Lion defense. The defense held up fairly well in the first half and only allowed 1 touchdown. PNG scored the first touchdown and Livingston matched it putting together their own drive before halftime where it was tied up at 7. In the second half, the defense didn't fair so well as the Indians scored 3 touchdowns. The Lions offense and defense couldn't get past their own mistakes. Quarterback Blake Burman fumbled several snaps and only completed one pass. The Lions frustrations came to a head when they were attempting a punt from their own endzone and a miscommuication occured when punter Cassity Land was looking to the sidelines and the ball was snapped. The ball hit the ground, Land scooped it up and was chased out of the endzone for a safety. As usual, Quentin Jackson did his part and ran well. Clint Davis' Lion report coming.
