Finis Vanover has 32 years of coaching experience and a state championship under his belt.
Lions Have New Head Coach, LIVINGSTON, May 16, 2018 - The LISD Board of Trustees unanimously approved Finis Vanover as the new Athletic Director and Head Football Coach for Livingston High School.  Coach Vanover comes to Livingston with 32 years experience as Athletic Director and Head Football Coach at the 4A, 5A, and 6A levels where he has compiled 175 victories including a 5A State Championship.  He has a well-known passion for the job and a work ethic second to none.
 
He served six years as the Athletic Coordinator-Head Football Coach at Tomball Memorial High School when the brand new school opened in 2011.  During the six years, all of the sports at the High School were in the playoffs. 
 
Coach Vanover has also served as Athletic Director-Head Football Coach or Athletic Coordinator-Head Football Coach at Angleton, Diboll, Seminole, Fort Worth and Hardin Jefferson.   Besides being the Head Football Coach, he also has five years as the Head Track and Field Coach, four years as Head Powerlifting Coach and state titles and runner-ups in each of them.  
 
Coach Vanover and his wife Karen have four grown children, Ashley, Whitney, Lindsay and Jeff and two grandsons, Garrett and Orion.
