Dangerous Driving and Open Containers Lands Driver in Jail, LIVINGSTON, April 25, 2008 - At approximately 4 pm on April 25th 2008, a report of a wreckless driver came in to the Polk County Sheriff's Department. Deputy Jamie Johns was dispatched to the scene on Highway 2665 just north of Schwab City. Johns found the suspect and pulled over Billy Joe Atchley, 36, of Livingston for suspicion of DWI. Atchley's vehicle (red 1997 Chevrolet S-10 pickup) had open containers of beer and a large hand-gun. As it turns out, Atchley had multiple warrants out for his arrest for traffic violations. Atchley was hauled in to the Polk County Jail and was issued citations for open containers of alcohol and no insurance. A rollback wrecker from LakeView Wrecker Service towed Atchley's pickup from the scene.
At almost 5 foot nothing and just over a hundred pounds dripping wet, Deputy Jamie Johns faces danger on a daily basis.
