Sheriff's Office Releases Information on Knobhill Road Death, LIVINGSTON, December 6, 2015 - The Polk County Sheriff's Office executed a press release regarding the December 4, 2016 Death on Knobhill Road:

On December 4, 2016 the Polk County Sheriff’s Office responded to an inciddent on Knobhill Road in reference to a gunshot victim. The victim was identified as Billy Wayne Mann, 33 years of age from Livingston Texas.  The case is currently under investigation by the Criminal Investigation Division of the Sheriff’s Office. Justice of the Peace Darrell Longino conducted the inquest and requested an autopsy to be performed by the Forensic Medical Management Team in Beaumont. At this time no foul play is suspected.

Possible Homicide at Residence off Knobhill Road, LIVINGSTON, December 5, 2016 - Shortly before 6 pm on December 4, 2016, deputies from the Polk County Sheriff's Office were dispatched to 206 Knobhill Road to investigate an incident.  One person is dead and homicide is not being ruled out.  Detectives had the residence taped off with police tape and were conducting an investigation.  A first-call car from Cochran Funeral Home was summoned.
