UPDATE ON MURDER / SUICIDE:  Livingston Police Department Released Information on the Murder/ Suicide from Saturday Night...

On Saturday, November 1, 2025, the Livingston Police Department was notified by the Lufkin Police Department about a female who had expressed suicidal ideations and was accompanied by a male juvenile who were possibly in our jurisdiction. Lufkin PD also provided two possible vehicle descriptions. Officers immediately began searching for both vehicles.

At approximately 10:47 p.m., one of the vehicles was located parked on the shoulder in the 800 block of U.S. Highway 59 South. Upon approaching the vehicle, officers located 27-year-old Adelia Garcia Torres and 8-year-old Cesar Ulyses Enriquez, both of Lufkin, Texas. Unfortunately, both Adelia and Cesar were confirmed deceased at the scene from apparent single gunshot wounds.

After reviewing all the evidence provided by Lufkin PD and collected at the scene, it was determined that there is no ongoing threat to the public.

Our hearts go out to the victims’ family and friends as they try to move forward after this tragic incident. We would also like to thank the Lufkin Police Department, Polk County Sheriff’s Office, and Texas Rangers for their assistance with this investigation.
