Officer Involved Shooting, Suspect in Critical Condition, LIVINGSTON, April 24, 2023 -  Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) Texas Rangers are investigating an officer-involved shooting that occurred on Saturday, April 22, 2023, in the 1100 block of Bluebird Ave. in the City of Livingston.
 
The preliminary information indicates that at approximately 6:30 p.m., officers with the Livingston Police Department observed a stolen motorcycle and attempted a traffic stop. After a short pursuit, the motorcycle driver crashed, and the driver fled on foot. Officers responded to the area and observed the subject running through a residential neighborhood.
 
Upon contact, officers located the suspect and utilized a taser in an attempt to apprehend the suspect, but the taser was ineffective. The suspect was able to pull a .40 caliber handgun from his boot when he was shot by responding officers.
 
Immediately, the responding officers began rendering life-saving measures until emergency medical personnel arrived and transported the suspect to HCA Houston Healthcare Conroe in critical condition.
 
The identity of the suspect is not immediately available.
