Young Boy Burned, Flown to Houston, LIVINGSTON, January 27, 2015 - At around 5 pm on January 27, 2015 an explosion was reported to the Livinston Police Department. Americare Ambulance Service was dispatched to Livingston Public Housing at the end of Pine Street in Livingston along with the Livingston Volunteer Fire Department, and Officers Scott Paske, Kevin Ward, Seargent Ronnie Bogany, Lieutenant Matt Parrish, Detective Marty Drake, and Detective Leon Middleton. According to witnesses, there were four kids, ages between 8 and 10 years of age (3 boys and 1 girl), that were in a wooded area behind public residences, that were playing with fire. The kids allegedly started a fire and then began throwing gasoline on the fire. The fire ignited the can of gas while a boy was holding it. The gas can exploded causing burns on over 40 percent of the boy's body. The child was transported by ambulance to CHI Livingston Memorial Hospital where he was loaded into a medical helicopter and flown to Houston. Firemen went into the wooded area and made sure that all flames were extinguished.
