Man Who Evaded Arrest in Leggett Caught, HOUSTON, November 1, 2017 - A driver of a minivan (2004 Toyota Sienna) who was stopped by Trooper Zach Lenderman with the Texas Highway Patrol, and then successfully evaded has been caught in Houston. On October 25, 2017, Trooper Lenderman initiated a traffic stop on a minivan in Leggett. The driver of the vehicle, Oscar Obdulio Perez Ramirez, 27, of Honduras fled into the woods. A perimeter was set up and a manhunt got underway shortly after Ramirez fled. The manhunt also utilized DPS tracking dogs. Ramirez managed to evade the manhunt and was caught in Houston on October 30th by Homeland Security Agents. Ramirez had eight illegal aliens in his minivan. All were detained and turned over to ICE agents (Immigration Customs Enforcement). Ramirez is facing federal charges for human smuggling and state charges for evasion.
