Mission Trip Guatemala

Youth Director Steve Horn is driven by a calling to lead young people to Christ.

Youth Director Steve Horn Leads His Flock on a Trip Help Others and Spread the Good News, LIVINGSTON, June 14, 2009 - On June 13, 2009, Central Baptist Church Youth Director Steve Horn and his wife Dee Dee and over 30 people consisting of youth and youth leaders gathered at a parking lot at Central Baptist Church in Livingston.  The group loaded their luggage and bags on church vans, received a briefing from Steve, prayed, loaded up and headed for Bush Airport where they caught a flight to Guatemala.  The group will be helping with the physical needs of orphaned children that are housed at Casa Para Niņos (House for Kids).  The orphanage houses more than 400 orphaned children.  Many of the kids have been abused and mistreated.  Horn and his youth group will be helping as the orphanage is expanding.  They'll be able to assist the staff in their duties, help build, help feed children, and most importantly let their light shine as they help spread the good news of Jesus Christ in a far off land where there is much despair.  Steve Horn will be updating us throughout the week on how things are going at the orphanage.  So stay tuned, and pray for these guys.

A circle of prayer. Students and leaders pray before embarking on their trip to Guatemala.
6:45 am and headed for Bush Airport.
