Major Accident in Goodrich Sends Two To Hospital, GOODRICH, February 21, 2008 - Shortly before 7 am on February 21, 2008, a major accident sent a man and a woman to the hospital during early morning rush hour traffic. According to DPS Trooper Kevin Burman, a Ford Expedition driven by Sandra Kennedy, 48, of Livingston was southbound on Highway 59 in Goodrich when a late model Ford F-150 driven by Mike Freeman of Point Blank pulled in front of her broadside at a crossover. Freeman was apparently pulling over to a crossover from a road on the west side of 59 when he pulled out in front of Kennedy. The expedtion slammed in to the pickup driver's side door/front fender. Both drivers were taken to Livingston Memorial Hospital via Americare Ambulance Service. There were 2 DPS troopers at the scene, two Sheriff's deputies, and Polk County Emergency Management Coordinator, Ken Hambrick. The left lane of 59 north, and left lane of 59 South were both blocked as emergency personnel tended to the scene of the accident. According to trooper Burman, both drivers had insurance. There was two rollback wreckers, one from East Texas Towing and one from Fawbush Towing. Freeman was issued a citation for failure to yield to oncoming traffic.
