All Day Long: Jimmy "Big Time" Bickford (no. 41) hits a shot for the Go Getters.
Go Getters Squash Team HEB 79 to 27, LIVINGSTON, February 12, 2013 - Marty Drake's Livingston Go Getters continued their basketball dominance Monday night (02/11/13) at the usual scene of the crime (Livingston Junior High Gym) by giving team HEB a sound thrashing and a hard lesson in how to play the game of basketball. Team HEB headed up by Head Coach Dustin Young never led, and the game was never even close. The poorly coached HEB Buddies could rarely hit a shot (except a lucky basket once in a while), could not play defense, and their ball handling skills (tons of traveling penalties) were nothing to write home about. Not only was the HEB Buddies' defense poor, but they almost constantly fouled the superior Go Getters. In sharp contrast, the Go Getters played like a team, a well oiled machine, well coached, good sports, and exceptional ball handling and shooting skills. Go Getter Head Coach, Marty Drake and his team was a picture of confidence and composure, while the HEB Buddies were frustrated, flustered, and by all appearances, totally uncoordinated. Late in the game, HEB Head Coach, Dustin Young was called for a technical by referee Raymond Ortiz. Young completely lost his composure and was summarily ejected. Young (apparently not knowing the rules of ejection) took the liberty of returning to courtside and defied Ortiz's call. Young was then cuffed and escorted from the building by Livingston PD (he was allowed to return for the post game T-shirt ceremony). Young needn't quit his day job as produce manager. Other than Young's ill fated outburst, the game was otherwise business as usual as the Go Getters rolled 79 to 27.
Billy "The Posterizer" Parrish hits a bucket for the Go Getters.
Parrish drives to the basket on a fastbreak. The HEB Buddies slowness fell victim to the much quicker Go Getters throughout the game.
Pam "The Professor" Coats hits a shot.
Brian "His Airness" Wigent makes it look easy against a terribly weak and uncoordinated HEB Buddy "defense".
His Airness also hit his free throws.
Deadly Smile: Shanta "Sweetness" Burse was all smiles as she was knocking down free throws for the Go Getters.
Sammy "The Bull" Drake was also deadly from the free throw line.
As Usual... Keith "The Human Highlight Reel" was totally dominant. No team has found an answer for Hampton's dominance on the court.
Destiny "The Thrilla" Peters was just too good for the HEB Buddies.
Wesley "The Shark" Starkey was one of several Go Getter scoring machines.
Starkey hits another basket over the Buddies.
Head Coach Marty Drake (assisted by Coach Bruce Elster) called off the dogs and instructed his team not to run the score up into triple digits.
Referee Raymond Ortiz hit HEB Buddies' Coach, Dustin Young with a technical (Young got cute and started mouthing off to the officials). Young cotinued and was ejected by Ortiz.
Young took it upon himself to defy the rules and decided to return to the game and was cuffed and escorted out of the building by Livingston PD's Seargents Chad Ward and Ronnie Bogany.
At the conclusion of the game, the Go Getters received the customary T-shirts (Kaitlyn "The Truth" Dean receives her shirt).
One of the Go Getters' very best players, Pam "The Professor" Coats was a happy camper.
Sammy "The Bull" Drake was pleased with the Go Getters' exceptional performance.
As always, good sportsmanship prevailed.
