Livingston, December 27, 2014: At approximately 11 pm a house fire was reported from 1804 S. Houston.
Car Crash Into House Precedes House Fire, LIVINGSTON, December 27, 2014 - At approximately 11 pm on December 27, 2014, a house fire was reported. Livingston Volunteer Fire Department arrived at 1804 S. Houston in Livingston to find a home fully involved. Additionally, Officers Sergeant Darrell Newman and Dallas Early with Livingston Police Department were dispatched to the scene. The home was being rented by Martha Islas. Islas was renting the home from her sister, Paula Perez. The home was not insured. Approximately 1 hour before the fire, a friend was visiting. When he tried to start his car, it was giving him problems. The car was parked in the front yard. The man went back inside and when he came back out, the started the car and it took off and slammed into the house. About an hour later, the house was on fire. Sadly, the home was totaled from fire, smoke, and water. Fortunately, nobody was hurt in either incident. The fire is being investigated by Livingston Fire Marshall, Josh Moehller.
