Firemen arrived to find the wood home partially engulfed in flames. Firemen battled the blazing structure for about an hour. The fire was extinguished, but the home, occupied by William Matthews, 56, of Livingston, and his wife, Tamitha, was totaled. The Matthews' escaped injury.  Sadly, the Matthews' had two dogs in the home that perished. The home did not have insurance. Officers with the Livingston Police Department, including Officer Jacob Edwards and Sergeant Tito Reyes initiated a preliminary investigation into the cause of the fire. Preliminarily, the fire is believed to have started in the area of the living room. The couple fortunately had nearby family to take them in during this time.
