The house at 1301 MLK was totaled in an early morning fire.
Fire Totals Home in West End, LIVINGSTON, December 23, 2011 - Only 2 days before Christmas and a home in the west-end of Livingston was totaled. At approximately 7:15 am on December 23, 2011, a fire was reported from to the Polk County Sheriff's Office. Volunteer Firemen from Livingston VFD arrived with 4 fire engines and a team of men at 1301 MLK. The fire totaled the home and it's contents. The home was owned by Charles Wallace and was not insured. Officer Kevin Blackburn with the Livingston Police Department conducted an initial investigation before turning the case over to Livingston Fire Marshal, Josh Moehler. The cause of the fire is under investigation.

Flames were shooting through the middle of the roof as it was sagging and slowly collapsing.
