Corrigan House Fire Takes the Life of 1, CORRIGAN, December 22, 2009 - Shortly before 12 noon on December 22, 2009, a house fire was reported that occurred on Powell Street near Striker Road in Corrigan. The house was located at the end of Powell Street on the left side of the road. Corrigan Volunteer Fire Department was dispatched to the scene along with the Livingston Volunteer Fire Department, Americare Ambulance Service, Corrigan Police Department and the numerous units from the Polk County Sheriff's Office and Polk County Fire Marshal Jay Barbee. The fire took the life of a lady whose name is being withheld pending notification of relatives. According to Livingston Fire Chief Corky Cochran, the cause of the fire is not known at this time but is under investigation.
