Fire Heavily Damages Home, LIVINGSTON, December 6, 2014 - At approximately 8:15 pm on December 6, 2014, a house fire was reported to Livingston Police Department. Firemen from Livingston Volunteer Fire Department arrived at 1901 North Houston in Livingston to find a corner of the home in flames. Additionally, Officers Dallas Early and Tito Reyes with Livingston Police Department were dispatched to the scene. The house is owned by Jose and Berta Medina who lived in the home with their children. Fortunately, nobody was injured in the fire. Firemen had the blaze extinguished in a few minutes, however the home sustained fire, smoke and water damage. Preliminarily, the fire is believed to have been started by an electrical problem. It is not known to PolkCountyToday.com whether or not the homeowners had insurance on the home. The fire is being investigated by City of Livingston Fire Marshal, Josh Mohler.
