Large Home Burns off Scenic Loop, SCENIC LOOP, November 17, 2017 - Shortly after 10 pm on November 16, 2017, the Scenic Loop Volunteer Fire Department was dispatched to a large home located a 4150 Scenic Loop (FM-3277). The home was engulfed in flames. Livingston and Onalaska VFDs were also dispatched along with Americare Ambulance Service and Deputy Kayla Hemperly with the Polk County Sheriff's Office. The house was not occupied, and according to sources at the scene, the home was sold within the last two weeks. PolkCountyToday.com was not able to ascertain who the owner of the home was or if the home was insured. There was another house located within a few feet of the burning home, but the Hardy Plank siding held up and even though it was just a few feet away, the home did not ignite. Fortunately, nobody was injured in the incident. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.

Deputy Kayla Hemperly initiated a preliminary investigation into the incident.
There was a neighboring house within just a few feet, but amazingly, the home held up and did not ignite.
The large home burned to the ground.
