Fire Totals Home, LEGGETT, November 13, 2014 - Shortly before 1 pm on November 13, 2014, neighbors reported a house fire. Volunteer Firemen from Livingston VFD arrived at 660 Wall Street (off FM-942 West) in Leggett to find the front half of the house completely engulfed in flames. Additionally, Americare Ambulance Service was dispatched, and Deputy Terri Mayer and Sergeant Jason Paske with the Polk County Sheriff's Office. Onalaska VFD arrived a short time later to assist Livingston Firemen. The firemen had the fire out in about 20 minutes. The homeowner, Jack Baringer, 57, of Leggett wasn't home at the time of the fire. Baringer does have home owner's insurance on the home. Fortunately nobody was injured in the fire. Deputy Terri Mayer initiated a preliminary investigation before turning the investigation over to the Polk County Fire Marshal.
