Fire Ravages Home in Lakeside Village, Owner in Critical Condition, LIVINGSTON, December 11, 2009 - At approximately 12:45 am on December 11, 2009, a house fire was reported in the subdivision of Lakeside Village located just a couple of miles south of Livingston off US-59. The Livingston Volunteer Fire Department was dispatched to the scene to find the house fully involved. Home owner Huey Nix, 73, of Livingston was transported to Livingston Memorial Hospital by ambulance and then flown by Life Flight to Hermann Hospital in Houston where he remains in critical condition. Two other occupants of the home suffered non-life-threatening injuries and were treated at Livingston Memorial Hospital. The fire may have totaled the home as the interior appears completely ruined and the roof's center caved in. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
