Track Hoe Burns Near 190 West, LIVINGSTON, October 5, 2010 - Shortly after 9am on October 5, 2010, a heavy equipment fire was reported from a dirt pit off of US-190 West. The Livingston Volunteer Fire Department arrived to find a large track hoe burning in a dirt pit near a dirt road just off 190 next door to Snook Roofing. According to a volunteer fireman, the track hoe was owned by Reynolds Construction. The fire department sent two fire engines and a handful of firemen to douse the flames that were coming from the engine compartment and the cockpit. The flames appeared to have totaled most of the track hoe as the interior was completely burned out the engine compartment burned for around 30 minutes before the fire was completely extinguished. Fortunately nobody was hurt and the fire was out by 9:35. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
