Fire Totals Home in Forest Springs, SCHWAB CITY, September 25, 2014 - At approximately 4:45 pm on September 25, 2014, a fire was reported to the Polk County Sheriff's Office.  Firemen from South Polk County, Livingston, and Scenic Loop arrived to a double wide mobile home located off Sunny Drive in the Subdivision of Forest Springs to find the home engulfed in flames.  Additionally, medical personnel from Americare Ambulance Service were dispatched along with representatives from Sam Houston Electric Cooperative, and Deputy Glen Edwards with the Polk County Sheriff's Office.  A driver reportedly was driving by and spotted the attached garage on fire and alertly knocked on the door of the residence.  A mother and her three kids were in the mobile home.  The mother was able to safely evacuate her kids and herself.  Fortunately nobody was injured.  The origin of the fire has not yet been determined.  According to Livingston Fire Chief, Corky Cochran, Livingston dispatched most of their trucks to the fire.  While in Forest Springs, Onalaska VFD covered Livingston in case they were needed.

Editor's Note:  We were not able to ascertain the name of the homeowners or residents of the home.  It is not known to PolkCountyToday.com whether or not the home was insured.

Special thank you:  Ken with Ken's Towing
