Heavy damage to a kitchen at 816 Polk Street in Livingston on Wednesday night.
Kitchen Catches Fire, Livingston VFD Saves Home, LIVINGSTON, September 25, 2015 - Livingston Volunteer Fire Department received a call regarding a kitchen fire at 816 Polk Street in Livingston at 9:30 pm on Wednesday evening (Sept. 23, 2015). Heavy smoke and large flames were visible when first fire truck arrived on scene. Firemen were able to contain the fire to the kitchen area. The house sustained heavy smoke, fire, and water damage. Using powerful fans, firemen were able to ventilate the house to remove the smoke. Livingston VFD had two trucks and fourteen firefighters along with Livingston Police Department, Electrical Department, and Public Works Department and Americare Ambulance Service. The Red Cross was called to assist the family. Fortunately, nobody was injured in the incident. City of Livingston Fire Marshall, Josh Mohler, is investigating the cause of the fire.
