Deputy David Ramsey (left) speaks with DPS Trooper Brent Murray.
Travel Trailer Burns in South Polk County, ACE, September 21, 2009 - At approximately 8:45 pm on September 21, 2009, Tommy Wood with the South Polk County Fire Department was driving on US-146 and came upon a light colored travel trailer on 146 and FM-2610 that was engulfed in flames.  Wood phoned for help and within minutes, trucks from the South Polk County Volunteer Fire Department and the Livingston Volunteer Fire Department responded to the fire and began dousing the flames.  Polk County Sheriff's Deputy David Ramsey was dispatched to the scene and DPS Trooper Brent Murray.  In a matter of minutes the fire was  put out but the travel trailer was burned down to its frame.  Wood stated to PolkCountyToday.com that the travel trailer had been sitting there for at least a week.  When Wood drove up on the flaming travel trailer, he said there were what appeared to be fresh tire tracks next to the trailer that looked suspicious.  At time of press, it is not yet known who the owner of the abandoned trailer is.  The incident is currently under investigation.
