Burn Ban Violation Believed to be Cause of Woods Fire, LIVINGSTON, September 19, 2015 - At approximately 2:20 pm on September 19, 2015, the Livingston Volunteer Fire Department was dispatched to a woods fire in the area of Jewell Coleman Road off US-190 West. Firefighters arrived to find a burn pile that had apparently ignited the surrounding vegetation, a utility trailer, and a storage building. Nine firefighters and four fire trucks from Livingston responded as well as firefighter from South Polk County VFD. Extinguishment of the fire took about an hour and a half and four thousand gallons of water. Deputies from the Polk County Sheriff's Office and Environmental Enforcement are investigating a potential burn ban violation.
