Firemen from South Polk County arrived to find the house fully involved.
Fire Totals Home in South Polk County, WILD COUNTRY, September 5, 2010 - Shortly before 8 pm a fire was reported by neighbors in the subdivision of Wild Country. The fire was located in a 1 story house located at 339 Porter Wagner Road. Nobody was home when the fire broke out. Homeowner Doug Carter, 42, was reportedly in church. The South Polk County V.F.D. was dispatched to the scene and was supported by the Livingston V.F.D. and North Liberty V.F.D. An ambulance from Americare was also dispatched to stand by and Deputy Dustin Lowery with the Polk County Sheriff's Office. The house was fully involved when firemen arrived. According to witnesses, there was a Chiwawa dog that was killed in the fire. Firemen doused the house with fire hoses and had the fire extinguished by 9 pm. Doug Carter did not have homeowners. Polk County Fire Marshal Jay Barbee will be investigating the cause of the blaze.

Firemen had the fire fully extinguished by 9 pm.
